Happy July 4th everyone! May it be filled with beer, fireworks, and friends or family (not necessarily in that order). I had the pleasure of seeing Phish perform on July 4th in 2014. The crowd was appropriately rowdy, and listening to a bunch of intoxicated Phish fans try to sing along to the Star-Spangled Banner was…an experience. The band opened the second set with a fiery, ~20 minute “Fuego” that built to a wonderfully blissful peak. While the “Crosseyed and Painless” from 10/17 was also quite tasty, this “Fuego” remains my favorite jam from the 4 shows I saw in 2014. You can watch a pro-shot video of the jam courtesy of the band below:
In other news, I have brought the Stepping Into Yesterday blog to Twitter. You can follow me there for notifications of when I post on this blog, as well as for more informal Phish chatter. Because clearly what this world needs is another Phish Twitter account.
I’m hard at work on the Summer ’93 reviews, which will start to be posted on July 15th. So, as they say, stay tuned!
